Chamundeshwari Temple
This 12th century temple on Chamundi Hill is dedicated to the "Goddess of Mysore", who in legend slaid the demon Mahishasura to save the city.
This station was for checking your shoes - bare feet only are allowed inside the temple.

Vendors sold freshly-squeezed cane juice along the path to the bull statue
This 16 foot monolitihic bull statue is made of granite, turned black through centuries of anointment with oil and sacred waters. The statue was given by the Maharaja Dodda Devaraja Wodeyar in 1659.
